Product Description:

Carbon Copy Cloner is a backup/cloning utility for Mac OS X. This version adds many new exciting features such as synchronization, scheduled tasks, creating disk images on the fly, and creating NetBoot and Apple Software Restore-prepared image sets from fully customized installations of Mac OS X. CCC is the most cost-effective, easy-to-use backup solution available for Mac OS X.

What's new in this version:

  • When CCC blesses the target drive it now generates the BootX file using the booinfo data from the source (as opposed to using the booinfo file from the boot drive, which may have a different/older version of the OS). Other minor enhancements in how CCC blesses the target.
  • CCC can now use disks with custom mount points (i.e., disks that are not mounted at /Volumes)
  • Fixed a bug with NetBoot image creation in which the capacity of the image was allowed to exceed 50GB (which causes NetBoot to fail without an appropriate error message)
  • One minor change for better compatibility with Panther
  • There is now an interface for setting the pre/post-action scripts and the list of cache files that are deleted at the end of a clone
  • ASR-ready disk images are now flattened for better hosting compatibility on non-Mac web servers
  • The "Darwin links" and empty folders are now created by default when a "System" directory is present on the Target -- their creation is not linked to the "Make bootable" option.
  • Minor bug fixes for G5 compatibility

Operating System Requirements:

Can't imagine how to do my every day's work without CCC. Every machine in our company was installed with CCC and every complete Backup is done witch CCC. I don't use the scheduler so that's not important for me. I think, in the final version that problem will be solved.

Carbon Copy Cloner Usage TipSchedules not working... - Version: 3.3-b5, 9/13/2009 04:17PM PST

Andreas..
The most likely reason for schedules not working after an update is having updated by hand. Use CCC's "Update CCC" menu item - check "Inform me of beta releases" if that's what you want, and click on "Check now". You will be guided to update any schedules correctly for the new version. If you download the new version yourself you should disable existing schedules before updating and then re-enable and save them. Using that menu item is easier! Help is available in the CCC forum.

Macs Pain
It seems CCC is now cloning at least 5 times faster than before. :)
But unfortunately I do not get scheduled tasks to run any more. :(
