Can't imagine how to do my every day's work without CCC. Every machine in our company was installed with CCC and every complete Backup is done witch CCC. I don't use the scheduler so that's not important for me. I think, in the final version that problem will be solved.

Carbon Copy Cloner Usage TipSchedules not working... - Version: 3.3-b5, 9/13/2009 04:17PM PST

(3 of 3 users found this comment useful)

Andreas..
The most likely reason for schedules not working after an update is having updated by hand. Use CCC's "Update CCC" menu item - check "Inform me of beta releases" if that's what you want, and click on "Check now". You will be guided to update any schedules correctly for the new version. If you download the new version yourself you should disable existing schedules before updating and then re-enable and save them. Using that menu item is easier! Help is available in the CCC forum.

It seems CCC is now cloning at least 5 times faster than before. :)
But unfortunately I do not get scheduled tasks to run any more. :(

Carbon Copy Cloner ReviewBootable clones on Snow Leopard - Version: 3.3-b5, 9/12/2009 09:25PM PST

Latest version (b5) runs well on Snow Leopard. I've used CCC for quite a while now and it does the job - trouble free. The response to Snow Leopard was fast, Thanks, Mike! And thanks to the guys on the forum, they are also part of a great product.

Carbon Copy Cloner Commentarywow... what on earth went wrong? - Version: 3.2.1, 6/15/2009 06:20PM PST

I've read nothing but glowing reviews of CCC, and very much wanted to love it, too. My primary HD started getting hinky, and no disk utility seemed able to solve the problem. So.... I used CCC first to create a bootable disk image (took 6 hours), then used an external FW drive and backed everything on to that. Then, erased the startup drive, re-formatted it and re-partitioned.

Launched CCC, and the disk image "fails to mount due to....". OK, went to backup the backup from the external FW drive, and CCC tells me it cannot create a bootable disk due to missing critical files - or something.

So, I'm hanging out to dry. Should have known better than to try this on primary drive. Am reinstalling OS X from scratch, and praying - hoping against hope - I can get the needed data off of the FW drive once a working startup volume is mounted on there.

Does exactly what you need, in a nice simple, well thought out user interface and at a nice(!) price.

I've relied on Carbon Copy Cloner for years to make bootable clones of my boot drives. Never ever had a problem.

Highly recommended!

I have been using this software for years and it does the job perfectly every time.

My only wish is that it were included with Mac OS X. Why doesn't Apple have this feature in Disk Copy?

I've made a complete backup of my harddrive to install a bigger one. It worked fine! Tokk less than 1 1/2 hour and my mac looked like before - instead of the space - it changed from 100gb to 320gb. great

I'm still using version 2.3. I've cloned my hard drive each month for several years with zero problems.

This is one fo the few apps I have this much confidence in. I donated a couple of times and consider it money well spent. Guess it's about time to "upgrade," though my present copy still works flawlessly.

Carbon Copy Cloner ReviewCCC is an invaluable tool - Version: 3.2, 3/19/2009 08:58AM PST

I've been a fan of CCC since I first used it 6+ years ago. Over that period of time, I think I've had one problem and Mike was quite responsive when I let him know about it. I was surprised to see a number of negative reviews here. Personally, I consider it to be one of the most useful programs in my toolbox, shareware or otherwise. I've never tried SuperDuper, so I can't compare. There has never been a reason for me to look beyond CCC because it gets the job done.
