Product Description:

This shareware program is a simulation of the well known card game of Hearts. There are other Heart game available for the macintosh, but none of them had a card set which was worth looking at. So we created our own. Here at Anubis, Inc. we like to generate software which is clean, small and useful. If you like large downloads and a lot of fluff, your probably in the wrong place. But if you want a game which is fun to play and reasonably priced, this could be for you.

Anubis Hearts ReviewDoesn't play like a real hearts game - Version: 1.2.3, 6/26/2005 09:24PM PST

I just finished playing several games of Anubis Hearts. I found the experience quite frustrating. Several times I was dealt duplicate cards. Also, the other players do not try to guard against shooting the moon, especially with their passes, which means players can shoot the moon very easily. This makes the game nothing like a real game against humans.

It was doubly frustrating since the "shareware" requirement for payment prevents the human from running (in addition to the annoying "time played" notice). This is a severe penalty that makes playing the demo version basically useless. To add insult to injury the program adds 26 to the human's score when he runs!

Also, the computer players do not play to win, often ending the game even though they are not winning.
