Wastebasket CommentaryDont work on Leopard - Version: 7.3.1, 1/22/2009 04:52AM PST

Try this for g85 and Leopard, and no work.
No solution from hp, better if you buy another brand.

Wastebasket Usage TipI don't have an HP printer - but - Version: 7.3.1, 7/18/2007 07:40PM PST

I don't have an HP printer - but a friend pointed me to this package because it contains an EXCELLENT drag and drop photo stitching program. I dragged and dropped 6 photos into a window - waited 24 minutes and 15 seconds for it to stitch together a resulting 12000x1536 beautiful panorama ( it did a 6240x1808 of three of the same pics in less than half of that,) BUT the big thing is I did nothing for a gorgeous result. It's worth twice the price ( lol ) for what it does with this alone. There are other applications in there too, but I haven't tried them all yet.

Wastebasket Usage Tipbetter use... - Version: 7.3.1, 4/6/2006 08:18AM PST

Hi there.

If you only need the drivers for printing, you won't want these driver here - they're pretty ugly...

Searching for alternatives, I found the GIMP-Drivers, but they don't support the G55.
But here is the trick: They DO support the DeskJet900 series and the 900-Drivers were reported to work with the G55. So before trying the GIMP-Drivers, I tried the "official" DeskJet900 Series drivers bundled with OSX and *jingle* it works!
They should work with other G-Series too, but I can't prove it...

So you actually don't need the GIMP-Print drivers, just those bundled with OSX.

Here is the list (scroll down to the non-nested list)
http://gutenprint.sourceforge.net/p_Supported_Printers.php3

hope this helps sb...

PS: On Windows XP you can install the driver, uninstall and then add the driver manually as the pure printer driver remains on the system (pretty ugly, but useful this time). You can also unpack the installer (using 7zip or Winrar), locate the .inf file and install manually - but this one's for the more experienced...
