Apple iPhoto Troubleshooting ReportiPhoto 8.1 quit on open - Version: 8.1, 9/4/2009 08:14PM PST

iPhoto is quitting unexpectedly when I open it. Using 8.1 on 10.6 (but also happened while running 10.5.8). Presume it has something to do with the library. I tried opening another library and pulling pictures from the old one but I can't do that... the old library I'm having problems with isn't available to import photos from it. (using the file/import to library...) I've tried holding down shift ctl cmd and rebuilding thumb pictures, etc. no luck. Any ideas? Appreciate the help.

Enough of these themes/cards/calendars you can ONLY utilizes if you order prints mail order! Allow the printing to our OWN printers! Come on Apple, many of us have quality color printers and don't wan to wait to print greeting cards, etc.

Apple iPhoto ReviewIPhoto 8.0 and updates - Version: 8.0.3, 6/6/2009 05:43PM PST

The following comments are not mine alone. Go to Apple discussions and look up comments on IPhoto 8.03.

IPhoto 8.0 and updates is a huge memory hog. My Activity monitor registered in excess of 130 mb.

This new version is very slow. Since I only have 512 mb of memory most of the editing features are very slow or don't work at all. I have tried everything, except more memory, and even that might not work. I have explored Apple discussions, called Apple Tech and nothing solves it. I also only have 3,000 picts.

Though the face recognition is great, it is not worth it with this slow hog. Save your money and stay with 7.0 and or use Adobe Elements. (only uses 2.5mb of memory) Once you order the software and use it, Apple will not take it back.
