Bad patch for me

This patch removed my game sounds almost completely, and made existing graphics issues (screen colors freaking out, going black, etc...) even worse. I see nothing in this patch that improves performance or any other aspect of the game. I'm about to re-install so the game is fairly playable again. Great game, very poorly tested patch.
Upgrade works perfectly

Installs and works as expected, resolves a couple minor issues with the previous version. My installed nocd patch no longer operates, so I had to hunt down the original DVD.

Runs on PBG4 1.67GHz - Version: 1.61rA, 7/19/2006 06:21AM PST

Before the patch it performed like it was doing all the graphics in software. Now it seems to be using the video card and the 128MB of VRAM in my PB. But I have all the graphics features turned to their lowest and the animations are still a bit jerky. I can't understand why this game requires so much horsepower but it will use everything you can throw at it. That said, it is playable on my 1.67GHz Powerbook G4. So if you have a high end G4 machine you might want to give it a try. If I had desktop instead of laptop graphics hardware, I'm sure it would be a bit better. But it's playable the way it is.
I'm still learning so I'm not going to review the game itself because I don't know if I like it or not yet.

Civ 4 was faster on my ibook (1.2Ghz) than on my G5 (1.8Ghz).
With this update it's now really fast on the G5.
Impressive update ! really !
