The OggVorbis QuickTime Component is no longer being developed and is out-of-date. It has been incorporated into the xiphqt component available at http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/ where development continues.

If you have the OggVorbis.component in your /Library/QuickTime folder it should be removed before installing the xiphqt component (which will be named OggImport.component

Ogg Vorbis QuickTime Component CommentaryFollow JMAX's instructions if you are under 10.3 or earlier - Version: r45, 1/21/2006 07:42AM PST

Gotta respect the ogg pluggin, but if you are using 10.3 or earlier you have to install this one manually with a little hacking. Follow JMAX's instructions in this thread. They work.

Ogg Vorbis QuickTime Component Troubleshooting ReportRemove _all_ old components to make it work - Version: r45, 10/29/2005 02:15PM PST

Hi,

I thought I'd put it in here for everyone to see:

I copied the new component to /Library/QuickTime/, and at first iTunes still crashed. Then I looked and found that the installer of the old Ogg component had _also_ copied it to ~/Library/QuickTime/ (the Library/QuickTime in your home directory).

Remove _both_, install the new one, and it works flawlessly.

Great work!
