Product Description:

Palm Desktop is a Date Book, To Do List, Address Book, and more. It can be used as a stand-alone application, or to view, sort, find, edit, back up, and add applications to your Palm device. HotSync Manager is the software that controls synchronization between your PC and your Palm device.

What's new in this version:

Adds support for Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and additional handhelds that were not supported by version 4.2.1 Rev A. We have devised a more elegant fix for the permissions issue we had encountered with iSync (formerly addressed in Rev C). We have re-released the desktop with the improved installer behavior. For those who have already installed Rev C, there is no reason to update to Rev D. The Rev D installer does not adjust permissions on non-Palm-related folders. However, if you installed Palm Desktop and you noticed that some Mac applications no longer work, you may need to reinstall these applications. See Knowledge Library article 40283 for details.

I am thinking about updating to Leopard and wonder if Palm Desktop works?

If not, can anyone offer a good substitute contact manager?

Palm Desktop Reviewdesktop problems - Version: 4.2.1revD, 2/5/2007 06:55PM PST

I have been using a palm with the desktop software for the mac since the beginning. I have had well over a dozen palm handhelds/ some with phones over the years and have used them with well over 25 different computers. I am not going to say I never had a problem but VERY few and far between. A far superior product to the separates of ical and address book. I am sad to see the palm support go. I hope Apple manages to better integrate the ical, address book and memos (maybe the leopard mail will accomplish this) As of right now, I am sticking with the palm desktop over the apple separates. I have no problem with eiother cradle or bluetooth syncing on any of my macs (some on 9.2.2, some on 10.4.8) and the same palm has no problem going back and forth between the two - DAILY!!!!!!!
