Product Description:

FAXstf X has been engineered to leverage all of the benefits of Mac OS X. From its modem Aqua interface to its drag and drop simple setup, faxing from you Mac has never been easier. You can now send faxes from any OS X document-based application, including Office v.X and Acrobat Reader. FAXstf X fully supports your Apple-supplied internal modem so you don't need any additional hardware or software to get started.

FAXstf X makes the best use of powerful resources already provided by Mac OS X. FAXstf X utilizes the OS X Address Book to keep all of your faxing contacts centralized. FAXstf X also utilizes the OS X Print Center that you are already familiar with for fax job management. FAXstf X provides many other benefits such as PDF format fax files, and the automatic reception of faxes.

One click and you'll know the status of any fax sent or received and the status of any pending faxes. Remove the inconvenient and time-consuming tasks associated with using a fax machine, when you fax directly from your Mac. FAXstf X also allows you to receive faxes directly to your Mac, ensuring that confidential faxes are not left on a fax machine for someone else's eyes to see.

What's new in this version:

A problem was corrected that would prevent the FAXstf Preferences dialog from appearing after selecting Preferences from the FAXstf menu.
A problem was corrected that could cause the cover page note to be truncated on the resulting fax.
A problem was corrected that would cause certain special characters in the cover page note text such as a comma or apostrophe to be omitted or displayed incorrectly.
NOTE: After the update is complete you will need to open the OS X Print Center application and remove the old FAXstf printer driver named "Apple Internal Modem" and add the new one named "Fax Print". Consult Mac Help via the Help menu for help with the Print Center application. You will also need to reconfigure your settings in the FAXstf Preferences.
Any faxes found during the update process will be automatically imported and placed in the Inbox of the FAXstf application. The FAXstf application can be found in the Applications folder. After the update is complete you can delete the FAXstf X User Data folder in your Documents folder.

Thanks to people who gave completely horrible feedback about this FREE and OPTIONAL product/alternative, we are left to Apple and Unix e-fax'es hands or we must buy a very expensive, commercial edition of this very same software if (for example) Leopard's fax fails.

I never understand why people attack a free and non mandatory optional product.

Recommending for 10.2.x and 10.3.x users, it is LOT more stable than Apple's "free fax" which is in fact, efax old version.
