Product Description:
Easy-in-use, safety, powerful and multithreaded FTP/SSL-FTP/SFTP Client for unlimited number of simultaneous connections built from scratch for MacOSX. It provides Accelerate Download function, Resuming, text editors support (BBEdit and others), Favorites Address Book, Rendezvous, Virtual Folders, Transfer Manager, scripting, UNICODE converter supporting national fonts, privileges management (UMASK, CHMOD), plugins and many more. All of it in nice-looking Metal interface supported by Drag&drop and Quick buttons. Captain FTP is localized in English, German, French, Japanese and Chinese.
What's new in this version:
- Upload/download for files bigger then 2GB.
- Virtual Folders (Create a folder and upload by drag'n'drop onto the folder)
- Custom Script support
- Captain FTP global registration (Includes registration for the individual PC and all users of the PC)
- Alternative FTP server support (If the main FTP server is not accessible, Captain FTP will attempt to connect with the specified alternative FTP servers)
- Automatic transfer resuming after download/upload failure (Errors during transfer are not a problem with Captain FTP 3.3)
- Timeout for warnings and messages - message dialog can be automatically closed after 1 minute.
- Improved performance from optimized set of FTP commands.
- Added command line.
- New browser column to display file kind.
- Progress bar in dock for minimized Captain FTP window/s.
- Rendezvous - added domain and ip address columns and filtering duplicate entries.
- Accepts blank passwords.
- Improved connection methods for proxy/firewall server logins.

See Title above - Captain FTP 6.2 will not launch on Tiger - Developer Site indicates that 6.1 is the last version with Tiger support.

really good and ease to use application from xdsnet - they have done quite well job! so much FTP apps out there - and only some like captainFTP are compatible to different servers and protocols.
i am using captain FTP also with crowznest as FTP forward to send multiple pictures to several media clients when out of office (and meanwhile also when i am in office!)
i just have to upload my pictures over mobile connection once, then put them in some hot folder - and the files run over broadband simultaneous to all defined client FTP servers.
(email is no alternative because not running directly into archive)
and if problems occur - i really get feedback and solutions back! so i can just recommend their software.
also use isoftphone from xdsnet for VOIP

Use Captain for years now but version 6.0020 is very buggy and constantly crashes especially if you use sftp.
hope it will be fixed soon as at the current stage it's not usable for me.
