Product Description:

Available since 1989, TypeIt4Me is the original text expander for Mac OS. Anytime you enter text in your Mac by typing it at the keyboard, TypeIt4Me can help you do it faster and more accurately. First you define a number of abbreviations and the full text (or picture) clippings that they represent, then you watch the Mac expand them on the fly even as you continue typing!

What's new in this version:

  • fixed bug that would cause TypeIt4Me to quit unexpectedly (crash) for some users;
  • clicking the up and down scroll arrows in the preferences pane view now properly scrolls the clipping text;
  • French and German localised versions now include autocue.

As a 20-year user of TypeIt4Me who does a fair amount of interviewing over the phone, I am totally dependent on this expansion program. I go nuts on the iPhone when I don't have it available. Developer is responsible and responsive. LOTS of big fat stars!

I have been using TypeIt4Me since it was first released or shortly thereafter (about 20 years ago). I really couldn't live without it. I think it's the best expansion program around. I've tried others, but nothing compares with TypeIt4Me. Over the years there have been problems when a new release was introduced, but those were quickly resolved by the developer. The tech support offered by the developer is the most responsive and personal help I've ever received from any software company.
I have only praise for this great little application.

I tried every text expansion program I could find for Mac OS X. Eventually, and for awhile, I settled on TypeIt4Me. I found some aspects quite useful and some (including the mangled and/or delayed expansions) quite frustrating.

After giving up on TypeIt4Me, I switched to Typinator and haven’t looked back. Typinator is the only one of the text expansion apps that I have used that allows one to back delete to erase a mistake and then type forward again from that point to the end of the expansion trigger and still have the expansion work.
