Wayyyy too expensive when there are free alternatives that work even better than this

I've used an old version of this product for many years. I emailed the developer to ask whether the current version was compatible with MobileMe. He replied to say that I'd have to pay to upgrade to the latest version before he would answer my question! It's a shame because I'd always liked the product but there's no way I'm going to pay $50 to have such a simple question answered.
Anyway, I've now found SuperFlexibleSynchronizer which seems even better than Synchronize Pro and is cheaper!

More interested in unlicensed copies than licensed users

Every time you run Synchronize! Pro , it installs parasiteware in the background of your Mac which is very difficult to turn off. The parasiteware doesn't do much except steal processor cycles (going up and down between 0 and 6% in my experience).
That's a pretty heavy performance price to pay.
Synchronize! Pro X used to be a great product. Then the developer became more obsessed with all the unlicensed copies in use rather than the licensed copies that are in use.
Hugh Sontag would do well to make his customers advocates, knock his price down a bit and sell to a much wider public.
Instead he gives rude answers and cripples our computers.
Look elsewhere.
PS. I now own and use SuperDuper and find the atmosphere a lot friendlier and more user positive. No parasiteware.

For instance, Synk Pro (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/31146) is a terrific app that only costs $45. I bought a license for it maybe five years ago, and they'll still respond immediately and answer any question or solve any problem by email or phone (though I only ever contacted them twice -- both times because I had screwed up - not the app). Or even Carbon Copy Cloner (donationware, so it's free if you have no scruples and just use it without donating) or SuperDuper! ($28 shareware), both of which can handle some fairly complex setups and will make bootable backups. So there's no way I'm going to fork out a C-note for this app. Its pice alone knocks off two stars my review, the graphics knock off another, and the way it works compared to other such apps lowers my evaluation yet further down to one star.
