ShapeMaker is a Shape Synthesizer for publishing. ShapeMaker provides a new way to control and create an almost infinite number of unique and useful shapes. Shapes are indispensible in almost any design, whether it's a simple rectangle or an intricate star shape. When Quark introduced bezier curves in version 4, they opened a whole world of new shape possibilites within QuarkXPress and ShapeMaker takes full advantage of this. You'll no longer need to switch over to Illustrator for those interesting box shapes, it can all be done interactively with ShapeMaker. In fact it can do things Illustrator still can't. Fortunately, you can export the shapes to Illustrator or Freehand!

The ONLY difference between this version and the previous version is this is FINALLY able to be used in Quark 6. But I feel that it should be a free upgrade since nothing else has been added. But it's typical of so many developers. Start charging more just because they finally start supporting OS X.
Other than that, the software works well, as do all of Gluon's products. I would heartily endorse new customers to use their products, but I feel slighted for the upgrade price when I bought the last version.
