Product Description:

OpenAG/OpenAG X is an unofficial unix/MacOS X client for the AudioGalaxy File Sharing System. OpenAG X is an is NOT supported by audiogalaxy.com. See features.

What's new in this version:

made the decision that it it more logical to have the server connection be a BLOCKING connection. Should prevent some errors.
turns out the connection to the info server always blocking... because of a programming error... removing extra code.
added link to OpenAG homepage from within app.
removed dockMenu support for now.
removed close connection menu items
fixed broken update frequency preference.
added a hack (a pause) to hopefully get rid of the deadlock conditions on exiting of the app which occurred occasionally.
read about how to add applescript to OpenAG, and am now watching the DVD Session.
turned on applescript for OpenAG X. don't know how scriptable that will make it.
added my first attempt at a "play" function -- without applescript.
made more README updates in preparation for PR2. Also added a LICENSE file to the distribution containing the GPL.
added several preferences to the preferences window, including: bring mp3 player to the front on play, confirm clear transfers, and implemented don't use hostnames and use static ips, at least in loading and writing of preferences.
enabled the IP only preference... not sure that it does much... does NOT change the links.
think I finally fixed the deadlock on quit bug!!

sad day that AG went down. OpenAG X was a nice mac client for the service. I cant find anything that compares. For anyone that buys into the record industries boo hoo about music pirating read this story http://www.salon.com/ent/feature/2001/03/14/payola/index.html When you put money down for good music it most likely went to NSYNC's Payola Budget.

AudioGalaxy has been murdered by the RIAA. Although OpenAG was a great program, I think now would be a good time for the developers to transfer their talents to some other project where their rights will be more respected.

it certainly is a CPU cycle burner. Constant 60% CPU load on my Dual1GHz; thats by far too much!
