Addressix CommentaryCompatible with Snow Leopard??? - Version: 1.4.9, 8/14/2009 09:18AM PST

Like others, I found this to be a very nice app, getting a bit old in the tooth, but still nice.

Apparently, Snow Leopard, does not install Rosetta by default. One must choose the custom install and then proceed.

Addressix is the last app that I have that was writtren for PPC, and thus, when installing Snow Leopard, I will move forward and switch to a different address app rather than installing Rosetta just for this app.

Indeed I enjoyed the ride, but it is coming to an end...

Addressix Usage TipFix for switching printers problem - Version: 1.4.9, 4/4/2009 06:28AM PST

I love Addressix but it uses a non-standard print dialogue and can get "confused" if you switch between multiple printers. Here's how to fix this problem:

1 - Download and install the free app Pref Setter 2.0.

2 - Navigate to [user] -> Library -> Preferences -> a-sharp.addressix.plist.

3 - Control-Click (or Right-Click) a-sharp.addressix.plist, go down to Open With and select Pref Setter.

4 - In the main Pref Setter window, scroll down to printerName and double-click the name in the Value column.

5 - Change the name of the printer to the desired printer.

6 - Go to the File menu and Save the new setting.

7 - Quit Pref Setter and you're good to go.

8 - Send a donation to the author of Pref Setter.

Perhaps this tip will help someone else with the same problem I had.

Addressix CommentaryAddress Not Found - Version: 1.4.9, 2/8/2009 07:17PM PST

Firstly; I love this little app! It's far better and easier than Easy Envelopes ever was.
I upgraded my Mac to 10.5 and have had to re-enter all my registration information for apps. I can't find my info for Addressix and have tried to contact the developer at their website www.a-sharp.com but keep getting Page Load Errors and Address Not Found. I don't think that I should have to pay twice for the same app. Can anyone help me?
