What planet are the developers on?

Any developer that releases a new product that only works on Intel computers is really not wise. There are no earlier versions available that work on Apple's PPC computers, so that means the developers have made a conscious choice to profusely upset literally thousands of users. What planet are they on, and is it even in the same galaxy? In short, Intel users are fine, but PPC users can forget this product ever existed given that the developers have forgotten that you exist! I have been inundated with calls from upset Mac users that have wasted hours and hours trying to get this pile of nonsense to work. I have told them all what to do, it sounds like this, 'don't bother wasting your time with this amateur product or its incredibly thoughtless and careless developers'.
Why no version number? - Version: 7.1, 9/22/2009 01:40AM PST

Why is it not possible to see which version is installed within the System Prefs pane? This is an imbecilic omission - how is one expected to know which version is installed and whether or not it is necessary to update a system without this? And it must be the most trivial of things to do - obviously the software knows which version it is, so writing some code to display this within the pref pane is a tiny amount of work. Come on, guys, have some simple common sense!

I cannot seem to remove DivX Player from upgradable. I show for My Version, 7.0.1 (build 1_0_1_8)(1.0) with a current version of 7.0.1. I just installed the very version available from "Download". About DivX Player shows "7.0.1" (where before I had 7.0.0 Alpha). I installed 7.0 on Snow Leopard as a freshly purchased version 7.
