The bugginess of DivX 7 seems tremendous - the annoying dimming function that would not possibly switch off despite toggling off the "feature" in preferences, choppy playback of 1080p and frequent hang-ups and crashes are only a few annoyances.
Installer may cause kernel panic - Version: 7.2, 11/17/2009 06:10PM PST

The last part of the installation executes an AppleScript designed to tell Safari to refresh its plugin list. Unfortunately to do this the folks at DivX decided to go through the process list. This is an unsafe operation, particularly when you have many programs running. On my machine it paniced the kernel. I highly recommend either doing a manual install using Pacifist or only installing with no programs running.
The problematic AppleScript is this:
tell application "System Events"
set myList to (name of every process)
end tell

Just FYI, it's still not 64-bit, that I can tell. Am I right?
