Nikon Scan X ReviewNot for Rosetta emulation (batch scan mode) - Version: 4.0.2, 11/4/2008 10:58AM PST

I had to go back to an older Mac to scan my slides. This workes flowless. However, the userinterface is not very intuitive. Nikon should have a look on people working with there Nikon Scan software.
The scanner itself is well built and does an excellent job. What a pitty, that the software lacks behind it.
Payed a lot and there is not upgrade to Intel macs

Nikon Scan X Troubleshooting ReportWhile in Leopard Limbo-Dig use a Classic Mac - Version: 4.0.2, 5/31/2008 10:01AM PST

Same crashing here with 10.5.3 on a MacPro. Fortunately, I keep my Blue & White G3 next to the MacPro. I share monitor and keyboard with a switch. So I was able to install Nikon Scan 4 onto the G3 from the CD I got with my Nikon Scanner (Coolscan V). OS 9 seemed to read the CD fine and even updated Nikon Scan. I also have an old Photoshop 7 on that computer. Sure it's a little slow, but it runs and I can copy the files over to the MacPro. I hope this helps.

great scanner shame about the neglected support for the software. Since upgrading to Intel Mac this piece of software is of no use. Crashes in CS 2 and crashes as stand alone. I sit here with two options for out with a lot of cash for a 3rd party ! or buy a new scanner (I have a LS8000ED and my next will NOT be Nikon) arghhhh. I remember having to wait a lonnnnnggg time for Nikon to make a OSX compatible version and now...they can not follow. Also their Amiga look Nikon View is laughable.
