Product Description:

One of the early wonders of the Mac was its revolutionary ability to do copy and paste across various applications. Unlike other areas in the Mac's system software that have changed and progressed over the years, copying and pasting has not evolved. How many times have you found yourself going back and forth copying in one application and pasting in a different application, wishing to yourself that you could copy 5-10 items at a time, then go to another application and paste each of these items. Now you can with a vengeance!

What's new in this version:

  • implemented a multi selection feature which already started with the "Find All" function. You can now extend a selection discontinously by option click-dragging (or double-clicking) the mouse. The multi selection can be changed in font size and style, you can copy it and you can even paste over it. The "Find All" function also uses the multi selection. Can be handy with finding misspellings and pasting the correct word over it. For those who ask how the misspelling feature works, you can open the manual and search for "copypaste" with the options "Misspellings only" and "Show All Findings". It will bring you to the section where the "Find" function is explained.
  • French and Japanese strings in the program are updated.
  • version info updated.
  • if you option-click the "C" button on the Clipboard Extender palette, the selection will be appended to the existing clipboard and better than in CopyPaste Classic it will preserve styles and even pictures. (Thanks to Virginia B. Caine)
  • ten Clip-Archives are available now. You can type the selected hotkey for the Archive followed by a number as long as the hotkeys are pressed. To open a numbered Clip-Archive, the Archive button on the palletes provides a popup menu. (Thanks to Virginia B. Caine)
  • the find function did not work correctly in finding misspelled words. (Thanks to Rick King)
  • the hotkeys for showing the palettes created problems. The commands to show the Clipboard Extender and the Clipboard Recorder palettes now can be found in the application services menu. Hotkeys are assigned to these commands, which work if the front application has not assigned the same hotkey. In other words, the hotkey functionality of an application is not changed by a service hotkey.
  • the find function allows to highlight all findings in the text
  • the find function allows to search a selection only
  • the find function allows to search backwards through the text (Thanks to Rick King)
  • A few smaller bugs fixed

CopyPaste-X ReviewCopy Paste Pro (Remains) Great; A Must-Have for Me - Version: 2.1.2, 9/20/2009 09:07AM PST

Working great for me. (I'm now running Snow Leopard, v10.6.1, but my opinion has been the same under previous Operating Systems.) One of my few "must-have" utilities as having a very-large number of clipboards (the "history") along with selected clips just being a keystroke combination away (43 per "archive") provides an enormous enhancement to my Mac. I readily recognize just how much worse off I'd be without this utility.

As for the complaints posted regarding the User Interface (UI), I--for one--find it works well and appreciate that the developers have listened to feedback regarding the alternative presentations of the saved information and given users the flexibility in the Preferences to choose which they want shown and which means (e.g., menu bar, Dock, palettes) to get to it.

Yes, I second the opinion that CP Pro really really really sucks, Bad UI, very bad UI, I keep clicking around just to get my archives list to select the one I need.
