What's new in this version:

GVOX CEO Richard Hotchkiss calls the new upgrade “a substantial bug fix and optimization� for MusicTime Deluxe users on the Apple platform. MusicTime Deluxe 3.5.6 boasts improved performance, ranging from changes to onscreen look and feel to a vast improvement in overall speed. Major advances focus on MIDI functions. Most notably, MusicTime Deluxe’s Real Time Transcription now performs smoothly and efficiently for Mac users. Other improvements include: • Treating Apple’s built-in synthesizer as a Device, allowing external and built-in devices to be used simultaneously. • The addition of Virtual Ports. When selected in the MIDI Setup Window, MusicTime Deluxe presents an input and output port for other applications to send and receive MIDI data. These and all the other refinements in MusicTime Deluxe 3.5.6 greatly increase the speed and flexibility of the program.

I'd given up on MusicTime Deluxe. I had been looking into Sebilius or Finale but I didn't want to pay those prices. I was also trying to figure out how I was going to convert all of my files. I have nothing against Sebilius or Finale other than price to get going with them. Their "upgrade" price does not allow for MTD.

After minimal use with this new release, this release seems to have actually resolved many, many, many of the problems I was experiencing with MTD, especially performance releated. I do like the new Handwritten font.

The only problem I had was finding my serial number. I had one for 3.0 and 3.5. Neither would work with 3.5.6. Once I finally found my V3.5.5 serial number all was well.

Hopefully a Universal Binary version will be coming along shortly. I hope to get an Intel MacBook Pro soon and I don't know if MTD works well or not with Rosetta.

MusicTime Deluxe Troubleshooting ReportNot patchable? - Version: 3.5.5, 12/24/2004 10:25AM PST

It took overnight to get a new ID on their system, not two days like they said. Anyway they ended up giving me a link to a complete new product to download. When I pressed them to ask what I was doing wrong with the patch, I received no reply. This is the same situation that happened with the 3.5.4 patch. Next time a patch is released, I'm going straight to their support site and simply requesting an complete new product.

MusicTime Deluxe Troubleshooting ReportCan't find default location - Version: 3.5.5, 12/16/2004 04:56PM PST

Has anybody else figured out how to install the 3.5.5 update? I got the same message about could not find the default location. I deleted the program and re-installed (ended up going to the same place). Same message when patching. I've tried going online to GVOX.COM support but I can't remember my password and it takes 1-2 days to email me the forgotten password. Their on-site FAQ says nothing about the problem.
