Product Description:

The year is 1957 and a fleet of flying saucers from Planet X have come to Earth. These saucers are under the control of the evil Brain Aliens who are abducting helpless human beings and taking them away to strange alien worlds to become slaves of The Giant Brain. Luckily for the human race there exist the Otto Matics, robots who police the galaxy in name of all that is good and decent.

You are Otto Matic, the robot who is given the job of saving Earth from the clutches of The Giant Brain from Planet X. You must rescue as many humans as you can while defeating the Brain Aliens and all of their evil followers. Your mission will take you to strange and fantastic alien worlds which are often treacherous and will require Otto to perform amazing feats.

Your rocket ship will take you to each of the planets, starting with Earth. While on each planet you must save as many humans as you can, but be careful because the Brain Aliens will try to abduct the humans before you can save them. When you save humans, they are teleported to your rocket ship. To escape the planet you must also collect rocket fuel. Once The Giant Brain has been defeated and peace restored to the galaxy, you will return to Earth with your human cargo where they will be freed.

What's new in this version:

  • Added ATI TrueForm support in the game's settings dialong (only supported by the new ATI Radeon 8500 and later cards). You can also press CRTL-9 to toggle it on and off without going to the settings dialog.
  • Added support for ATI's full screen anti-aliasing which works with any Radeon or later card. Activate in the Settings dialong, or press CRTL-F10 to toggle it at any time.
  • Another new option in the game's settings dialong is the Use Mip-Maps option which is only available on OS X. This will create smoother looking graphics at the cost of VRAM and some performance, therefore, it should only be enabled if you're on a faster computer with *at least* 16 MB of VRAM.
  • Better control with analog joysticks and gamepads using Input Sprocket.
  • Other misc bug fixes.

Even though the updater asks for the location of the Otto Matic game package, the updater won't run until the Otto Matic game package resides in the Application folder itself.

Reading the one review about this app that phones home. It saved me a download. I don't use software made by companies that think they have a right to be connected to your computer. I pay for the software and it's mine to do with what I want in my own home, just as if it were a hammer or drill. I know these software guys think that the public is only renting their product. They are in some dream world. If I buy a piece of software and hack the crap out of it in my own home for my own use then that's what I do. Nobody's business but my own. Not that I even know how to do that, but if I could, I just might.
