xkontI hate when there are numerous and meaningless updates for apps.
Proteus is always my choice and never liked other apps (maybe only for the look).
The only issue was "joining" conversations with multiple persons but I was ok.
I hope these guys continue updating whenever they really have something to offer and not just to "remind" us that they are "alive".

MAC_1984I was a licensed user of Proteus, and it was once one of the better ones, but those days are long gone.

:: MILE ::It's still one of the best multimessenger apps out there, though...! And I'm sure many owners of intel-based Macs have been waiting for this...

Bobby TI recently got a MacBook & today tried to use Proteus on it. Proteus crashes out before it finishes loading. In other words it's completely incompatible on Intel systems... Oh well, guess it's time to find a new client...

ghostlexxWhat the hell happened to what was once a great piece of software ??
It was bought by a company from a young chap [who went on to work for Apple] and has been made free, and apparently forgotten by the new owners.
Wake up owners - making something free is not an excuse to forget about it and consign it's support to the "maybe we'll work on it, if we can be bothered" pile !!
Just my thruppence worth
ICQ functionality seriously flawed

CyberPet2I'd really appreciate any comments from the developer why it doesn't work at all... at least it should work in Rosetta, but no go.

Also, when I tried to set up my jabber account with Proteus, I kept failing until finally I noticed that it was necessary to open another tab to enter the host name for my account. I had thought that it was implicit in my account name (user@host).
Bottom line: Adium is still my chat client of choice for MacOS
