Product Description:

An Innovative Utility that Bypasses the Web Browser: Watson is a time-saving "Swiss Army Knife" that packs nineteen time-saving, productivity-enhancing interfaces to the most important web content and services.

URLs are hard to remember. Web services are scattered across the vastness of the web. Bookmark management is an oxymoron. Watson eliminates these problems and reduces your time-to-everything on the web -- Watson makes getting information from the Web simple and straightforward.

Much faster than Sherlock 3, with nearly twice as many useful tools, including Google Searching, you'll never need to launch Sherlock again!.

What's new in this version:

  • Several Watson tools now integrate with other applications:
TV Listings will control an EyeTV digital video recorder (www.elgato.com) to watch and record shows.
Movies and TV Listings now integrates with iCal to schedule events. (Jaguar only)
Phone Book's White Pages allows a selected item found in the White Pages can be added to your Address Book. (Because the data is not returned in any consistent format, you will need to massage the information a bit in your Address Book application, however.) (Jaguar only)
Amazon.com preview images can be dragged into Spring (www.usercreations.com), version 1.0 or greater, to create an object on the Spring Canvas; as well as a standard Web Browser, text editor, or graphics program.
  • Amazon.com: Substantially rewritten to more accurately show and cache browsing categories. Added Power Search.
  • Movies: Solved QuickTime movie loading and playback issues with Jaguar. QuickTime movies now appear centered in the viewing area (which, in Jaguar, can grow horizontally).
  • Reference: Solved sound playback problem on Jaguar; tool auto-selects item when there is just one search result.
  • The Flights tool has been removed for now, pending a new data source.
  • More internal HTML/XML parsing improvements.
  • Bugfixes dealing with international character encoding, HTML link clicking, proxy Keychain access, and a long-standing problem where newer built-in tools did not supersede older downloaded versions.
  • Toolbar can be customized by dragging icons around from the Show All display.
  • Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

    • Mac OS X 10.3
    • Mac OS X 10.2
    • Mac OS X 10.1

    Additional Requirements:

    • Mac OS X 10.1 or higher

Watson ReviewGood but too biased to the US - Version: 1.7.4, 9/26/2003 03:14AM PST

Good product but it is too biased towards the US. Sherlock 2 allows international developers to "localise' channels and Watson should do the same.
