Product Description:

DP Autochanger is a shareware product that changes the desktop picture automatically. The user sets the time between changes and chooses a picture folder and a new picture is chosen at random or in alphanumeric sequence at the change time. DP Autochanger keeps track of which pictures have been shown so that all the pictures in the folder are shown, unlike many randomizers. URL files that point to pictures on the web can also be displayed.

What's new in this version:

Supports Tiger, Mac OS X 10.4. Fixes a preference bug.

If you get an AppleScript Error, which reads: "NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 4 (1)" when you launch the app, and another which reads: "Can't make POSIX path of alias "" into type anything. (-1700)" when you try to set the preferences, delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.quandir.dpautochanger.plist and everything should work fine again.

Also, I love the icon.

pictures and ChangeDesktop is free. However, Jaguar does not find pictures in nested folders. That means that you have to select a specific folder that has image files (not folders) to view pictures or move a bunch of aliases into the folder. Also, neither one of them offer the ability to grab images from a URL. This is a great app for what it claims to do. It does it better than Apple and has more options. This app worked well in 9, and offers more for OS X.
