Product Description:

Sputnix is an unsupported, unofficial "satellite" client for the music sharing website, Audiogalaxy. Because it is unofficial and not based on publicly released specifications from Audiogalaxy, it may not work properly.

What's new in this version:

actually removed localizations; .8B would behave badly (crash or just not work) for users of German, Dutch, Swedish, and French systems
uploads requests are no-longer case sensitive; previously Sputnix could fail to upload a song because the request's capitalization was different than the actual file
added Customize Toolbar option to the window menu (although any toolbar in Mac OS X is customizable my control-clicking on it)
sorry it was necessary to update so soon after 0.8B

new in version 0.8B:

Sputnix now makes a temporary copy of active transfers when previewing them (some users had found that previewing active transfers could result in corrupt MP3s)
added extensive help system
transfer log should update more quickly when a transfer begins or ends
added Sputnix Database window which shows you all the songs Sputnix has found and how they've been reported to Audiogalaxy
added option to change the location of the cache folder
added check-for-update feature; you can have Sputnix automatically check biggerplanet.com for a more recent version every 24 hours, or have it check manually
added "Pro" feature set (pro features require a donation of any size for unlimited use)
added iTunes integration; Sputnix can automatically add newly downloaded songs to a selected iTunes playlist (pro)
added playlists drawer; you can drag and drop transfers in Sputnix onto individual iTunes playlists (pro)
added autofiling; Sputnix can now attempt to automatically file new downloads in folders named for the artist; "loose matching" option allows for phonetic matching of artists' names (pro)
added autofiling window; you can also autofile the contents of arbitrary folders (pro)
added pro features welcome window
password is now sent to Audiogalaxy in all-lowercase (Audiogalaxy passwords are always lowercase, no matter what you entered when you signed up)
Sputnix now reports songs not downloaded from Audiogalaxy with filenames in the format that Audiogalaxy prefers (artist - title.mp3)
scanning: initial scanning of songs is somewhat slower, but subsequent scanning is a bajillion times faster
toolbar now defaults to icon mode with customize button (many users did not realize you can customize any toolbar in Mac OS X by control-clicking on it)
localizations temporarily removed
this version of Sputnix will never expire

wanting to preview the music, but nothing comes out of my speakers. Easy work around is to open iTunes...but still... Maybe I need to reload it, but it's downloading right now so I don't want to quit...blah...

what it says. stable, fast and free. The only thing that would make it better is less dependency on the web site. Features like stopping a download can only be done through the web. Alternatives like this are awesome, especially compared to the spyware in the AG winblows clients.

I couldn't quite figure out how to get it doing stuff... But now I got it. And it's sweet. Top notch. BTW, what design ugliness? It looks functional. And best of all it _is_ functional! Four stars so they still have something to strive for :-D
