I don't quite understand the problems reported here for the Sweet MIDI Player.
I started using the demo (downloaded from Roni Music) as soon as it was available for my Intel iMac G5, and apart from the muting thing (which has just been fixed), it's the best player I've ever found for my purpose.
As a music teacher I use MIDI a lot to create music "minus one" play alongs for my students. In fact a number of my students have downloaded the demo for Windows also without problems.
Just make sure you download the latest version from Roni Music.

...and not in the baby-toting sense. It's fine if you set it to play a file and then just leave it alone, but if you make any parameter adjustments, it will soon become unresponsive, necessitating a program quit. Same problem for the last few versions, was hoping this recent release would fix it. Potential for this program is there, just not yet realized.
In short, keep your money away from this one for now.

Using a crack to avoid payment, then rubbishing the product (and advising other not to buy!) shows a breathtaking arrogance.
As for SMP, I use it regularly - It's well laid out and simple to use. For all that it's just a midi player, it allows the user to change patches, tempo, key and completely re-mix the track - which can then be re-saved.
I find it particularly useful for singers - I send 'em a midi file - they find the best key and tempo and send the updated file back to me - The song is then fully prepared on the studio DAW for them to do the vocals.
