Product Description:

SpeedSearch is a Macintosh application that searches files for text. With a rich set of features and an intuitive, user-friendly interface, it's a powerful tool for anyone. SpeedSearch uses WASTE to display search results. The size of search results is limited only by application memory, and the colors used to display search results are user-configurable. SpeedSearch displays results similar to UNIX grepeach line that matches the search string is displayed in the results area. And like grep, SpeedSearch supports regular expressions. Finding text in files is an essential task in any development effort. SpeedSearch eases this task with "goto line" support for some of the most popular editors: CodeWarrior, BBEdit and Alpha.

What's new in this version:

Uses the PCRE (Perl Compatible Regular Expression) library
The "Search File Names:" popup menu selection is now saved between restarts

wow is VersionTracker one of the best tools on the web or what? I was about to rate SpeedSearch when I saw the comment below about "Sonar Professional." I did a search for Sonar in VersionTracker. Did not find Sonar Pro but did find a totally different utility, Sonar. It looks like all of us should also have that utility. Thanks VT

Anyway, I've been using SpeedSearch for a very long time and cannot fault it (except for the interface, which others have commented on.)

I was in desperate need of a powerful search tool which could evaluate html files and find an embedded literal. It worked like a charm. Hats off to this company and their developers. Five Fat Stars for this SpeedSearch X - Mac OS X !!!!!!!
