XMas Lights CommentarySurrounding lights - Version: 1.5.6, 12/3/2007 10:34AM PST

I'm sure it would be appreciated by all users if the developer could add an option for surrounding lights like Festive Lights widget. This would make this application perfect.

XMas Lights Usage TipAn idea - Version: 1.5.6, 12/3/2007 08:40AM PST

Read the included Readme and then download Festive Lights widget - http://www.interdimensionmedia.com/widgets/?widget=lights. This widget comes with two light sets but you can download more through it.

The light sets you will find in User/Library/Application Support/Festive Lights/Lightsets are folders containing "on" and "off" sets of bulbs in .png image format. This should give you an interesting idea!

XMas Lights ReviewWorks, but doesn't do much - Version: 1.5.6, 12/2/2007 08:28AM PST

I just tested Xmas Lights on my iBook G4 1.33 w/OSX 10.4.10, and it seemed to work fine, using less than 5Mb of memory. For me it wasn't worth installing. Developer says this "hangs" from the Menu Bar. Hovers is more appropriate, as I saw nothing but a single row of lights 'floating' beneath the Menu Bar. No wires or anything connecting them. For those wanting to add some desktop sparkle without taxing your memory, this may be what you want. If you want a lot more 'bling' and can spare the RAM, try these apps: For customizable lights all around your screen, try MacLampsX @ http://arcticmac.home.comcast.net/~arcticmac/software/maclampsx.html (freeware) If you'd like a customizable tree on your desktop, as well as customizable lights around your screen, try Treetop Lights @ http://www.freerangemac.com/ (donationware)
