Ok I have played this game ever since I have found Harpoon 2, and got this for free since i gave AGSI my reciept for H2 so I could prove that I already bought it, My only suggestion is to go to Harpoonhq.com and get the newer DB which is more accurate and much much better and is also more current as well as to what all of the militaries of all nations use as of now, and it just keeps getting better on each update to the DB, how ever ya cannot play the old scens with the newer DB since its totally different from the old DB, so at harpooonhq, only play the scens from them with there DB, and you can also get rebuilt Scens from them for the newer DB.. I highly suggest this sim to everyone who enjoys long and hardcore sims that does its best to accurately portray what it can be like in real life.. Altho it be nice if they could also somehow implement moving Vehicles on the ground, but I highly doubt that'll happen, but it still would be nice to have...

Harpoon X ReviewStill really rough around the edges - Version: 3.6.3, 1/9/2005 05:00PM PST

As a (former) game developer, I can appreciate everything that has gone into this game (including it's production history!) However, there are still some really rough edges that keep this game from shining. The documentation, especially concerning the tutorials, needs another revision (as well as double-checking the OS X version!) For example, you can't "double click" on the navigation toolbar button (to set zone rules), you just get a "no course set" dialog. (p.s. ToolTips would be aa really handy addition!) You don't "double click in the upper-left-hand corner" to close a window. The tutorials sometimes end up out of sequence - which makes understanding this complex game a real b*tch. And in the fourth (weapons) tutorial, I was instantly killed even with the time compression set to the lowest level (one second). After reloading the scenario, the game crashed and I wasn't really feeling compelled enough to relaunch it. I'll keep downloading and trying this simulation out as more revs. come out, but I can't really see myself really *ahem* immersing myself in this game as it currently stands.

Jesse, when I try to connect directly to

it gets redirected to port 2004. So the problem is at your end.

Harpoon X Troubleshooting ReportThis an update for a commercial product. - Version: 3.6.1, 3/26/2004 08:17AM PST

It's not a demo. If you want a demo go to the main website: http://www.harpoon3.com

The missing libraries are included in the installer for the full product.

There was a corrupt Stuffit archive at one point, but if it caused a kernel panic on your machine, you probably have something else wrong with it (it never caused one on my G4/DP450 or my G3 iBook).

and then attempted to trash the archive -- instant kernel panic when emptying trash. Rebooted into a clean Jaguar partition, again put item into trash, and again another kernel panic. Finally had to boot into OS 9 to trash without incident. DP 533 1 GB RAM, OS X Jaguar 10.2.3.
