Product Description:

SwitchPic is a System Preferences Pane that handles changing the desktop picture in Mac OS X 10.1. SwitchPic can rotate the desktop picture at specified intervals. As an added bonus you can even use SwitchPic to set the desktop picture to one of the amazing images from the Mac OS X screensavers. Sporting an iTunes-like interface, with SwitchPic you can create and customize your own collections of desktop pictures. The SwitchPic Menu is a system menu, similar to the monitor and volume menus, that allows you to easily switch between collections and rotate the desktop with one click of the mouse from any application.

Changed folder collections interface
Added ability to scan subfolders in folder collections
Added ability to change the folder that is associated with a folder collection
Fixed bug where the desktop picture would get stuck
Fixed bug that would cause lots of problems if you hadn't already set the desktop picture using the built-in desktop pref pane
Fixed bug where the placement for the current desktop picture would reset to Stretched
Fixed bug that caused System Preferences to crash with multiple monitors
Popup Buttons now have a check by the currently selected option rather than the last option chosen
Updated Japanese localization
Other small bug fixes

It seems to be causing some troubles with 10.4.1 and .2 so I wrote a note to the developer. No reply. I presume he has stopped work on it. In truth Tiger handles wallpapers fairly well and there is little need for this now.

It always had an awkward interface anyway.

a great idea, and it looked pretty good, but just when it began to get stable, the devloper apparently decided to quit development. Jaugar problems...competition from ChangeDesktop (for FREE)? Personally, I liked this design better. I hope he picks up where he left off. I am going to give this effort 3 stars for now, and hope he deserves a 5 star rating when he resurrects this phoenix.

leave such a low rating, but it simply doesn't work with either rotate picture at login or in hourly increments. Good turn-around time with email to developer but his advice didn't fix the problem. Nice interface and you're on the right track but will try ChangeDesktop next.
