I've just tried this demo, and from the point of view of someone endlessly struggling to correct digital photos for acceptable screen display, a single BinusScan process in PhotoRetouch is like 17 filters in Photoshop. Granted, I'm only using 0.01% of the functionality of either app, but then again I am only really interested in EASY color/contrast/saturation correction -- is that too much to ask for? -- and for this purpose alone, PhotoRetouch makes Photoshop look like last year's shareware

PhotoRetouch Pro ReviewSuperb Program - Version: 3.0, 5/14/2004 05:51AM PST

pt44--2008
Far too many people miss the point of this program. This is not a Photoshop replacement. It is a specialised tool that performs certain tasks that Photoshop cannot. For myself, a professional photographer, I've seen nothing on the market that can replicate the AutoRECO process. Its truly amazing and so simple to work. As for quotes about the price, check with Binuscan the true price, there are many miquotes in magazines and on the web regarding this product as it is avaiable in different versions. Check carefully which version you actuall need and then check its price. My current upgrade cost me £149 (about $225). That might be more than some people want to pay, but to my workflow its worth over £1000 ($1500). The only bad thing about the program is Binuscan. Who seem to refuse to update its customer base as to when new version arrive and the manuals that come with the program are a little vague. However their customer support team is very helpful.
