Product Description:

OpenGL accelerated versions of Quake and QuakeWorld built from the opensourced code, with added features and refinements Mac users have come to expect.

What's new in this version:

    Both:
  • gl_singlepasssky 1 renders skies in one pass on supported hardware (multitexture)
  • re-implimented "force_centerview" command (somehow got lost in the Mac builds)
  • default m_filter setting is now 0.2
  • changed default palette gamma to 0.8 for more consistent look when compared to software renderer
  • glClearColor is neutral grey, rather than red
  • Check for ".txt" or ".text" extensions for drag & drop commandline files (ASCII files created on OSX will now work)
  • Support for the Only Mortal MacOSX game server browser (v2.0 and later) Big thanks to Mike & Billy!
  • Can run a game with commandline parameters via AppleScript (based on requirements for Only Mortal)
    GLQuake:
  • added r_showedges cvar for PVS & BSP splitting debugging
  • status bar is now visible with "gl_clear 1"
    GLQuakeWorld:
  • properly reloads model textures on OSX when switching video modes that require a disconnect

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.1
  • Mac OS X 10.0
  • Mac OS Classic

Additional Requirements:

  • Full version of Quake, or Quake Shareware.

GLQuake & GLQuakeWorld Troubleshooting ReportProblems with NVidia 6800 - Version: 1.1b3, 11/3/2004 08:43PM PST

mr. poopie pants
I purchased a dual 2.5Ghz G5. Until my NVidia 6800 Ultra DDL card arrived, I had a Radeon 9600 unstalled. This app worked beautifully with the Radeon 9600. Once I installed the NVidia 6800, the application quits with the following error: "GLQuake has encountered an error. No GL renderers found." This is the only application I have that hasn't worked beautifully with the Nvidia 6800 card.

GLQuake & GLQuakeWorld ReviewFix the huge… - Version: 1.1b3, 7/30/2002 07:43PM PST

loss of frames in action areas. When playing Quake TF, I can handle maybe one, spam-free, opponent. Add another and the fps drops to nill and I cannot move. G4 534Mhz, 384MB RAM, ATI Radeon 32MB DDR. With an old-school client, I had no problems. OS X clients seem to lack the ability to handle more than one enemy at a time.

GLQuake & GLQuakeWorld ReviewI love Quake… - Version: 1.1b3, 7/7/2002 12:36AM PST

Merism
1, everything about it, however with this osx version, the mouse support is seriously pathetic. It's like something types "sensitivity .002" in my console in the middle of gameplay if I ever A) Am walking around a 'large' area, or B) Am "fighting something." The fact that I play this multiplayer quite frequently causes a great annoyance, due to the fact I cannot aim properly, nor can I optimize player movement since it relies heavily on the mouse. My setup is a Dual 500mhz G4, 786 megs RAM, and a Radeon 8500. I'm QUITE sure that's enough to run this game without a problem, yet it seems something is still amiss.. Thanks for trying though.
