Product Description:

Select some text. Hit "Shift-Apple->". Get Google results. Hit "Shift-Apple-<". Get Amazon results. Hit "Shift-Apple-*". Get iTunes Store results.

This release is context aware. When you select text from Xcode, a browser opens up searching developer.apple.com instead of Google. You can define your own contexts (application-grain) and choose what URLs they apply to. This is public domain.

Even though Apple has taken this functionality into Safari with Panther, I keep it for the following reasons: 1) Better keybindings. 2) Context sensitive. 3) Searches Amazon and iTunes.

What's new in this version:

Google searches now go to Google Suggest.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3

SearchGoogle.service ReviewNo longer available? - Version: 6, 11/18/2008 06:26AM PST

This little wonder has been working great since I installed it over two years ago. Although the description claims 10.3 compatibility, it's working here on 10.5.5.

When I revisited this posting before sending it to a friend, and I found the Download and developer links all get a page-not-found (404) error. Perhaps it's a transient problem, and GU.ST will return.
