Bought Lights Out as part of a pkg deal with Tiger Cache Cleaner. Tried it on a PowerBook & iMac & found it just complicated things. Sent a question to the developer regarding its use & a month later I'm still waiting for a reply. For me Energy Saver is more than adequate & see no reason to modify it with this hackie.

It's customary to state what's new or changed when a product is updated. There is no mention here, or on the developer's web site, or in a "read me" file that comes with the software. This was also the case with the last update (2.2.6).
Does what it suggests

Many of the "negative" comments here reflect what people want an alternative energy saver program to do, not what this particular software offers. I was looking for a program that could dim the screen quickly when running certain programs so I could extend the battery run time on my G4. This program does exactly that. While I would agree that the interface/execution of the program is a little misleading in that the hot corners do not reflect the user's preferred settings for the active application (they always activate CPU sleep), if your patient and let the timers do their thing it works fine. Would I like to see some of the features suggested? Sure ("Turn off" screen as opposed to dim would be nice.) But it deserves 4 stars for it's current offering.
