DoubleCommand Troubleshooting ReportKernel Panic During Install - Version: 1.6.7, 2/4/2009 09:02PM PST

dgkanter
Installer caused kernel panic as soon as it began the installer script. (Downloaded installer, again, directly from the developer’s Web site; again got the kernel panic.)

DoubleCommand CommentaryI Still use 1.6.3 - - Version: 1.6.6b3, 5/9/2008 01:47PM PST

jasocean
at least it partly works. version 1.6.6b3 is completely dead, doesn't do anything.

I want to remap "enter" to "option" on my intel-Mac Pro. Version 1.6.3 works some of the time, not always (like this: "command-enter-backarrow" works as "command-option-backarrow", but "command-enter-forwardarrow" does not).

With 1.6.6b3, "enter" only acts as a dead key with this substitution setup.

I hope you can fix this, it's a great utility when it works!!

DoubleCommand Troubleshooting ReportNot working for me - Version: 1.6.6b3, 3/25/2008 07:10PM PST

MacBook Pro (Mid 2007), 10.4.11.

Want to remap "enter" to "option," but it's not working quite right.

It acts like it's working in the Keyboard Viewer (accessed via the "International" menu extra), but no application seems to believe it.

Here's a little test that may provide info to the developer: Looking at the Keyboard Viewer, if I hold down the Command key on either side, then press the other one and then let up on the first one, the Command key indicator remains lit up in the viewer. But if I do this with the Option key and the Enter (remapped to Option) key, the Option key indicator goes out when I release the actual Option key. In fact, after a little further experimentation, it looks like pressing ANY modifier key causes the remapped Enter-to- Option key to stop being recognized in the Keyboard Viewer.

I hope that this helps.

DoubleCommand ReviewAffected Shut Down - Version: 1.6.6b1, 2/28/2008 06:06AM PST

ricklib
Double Command itself worked great for me and enabled me to set up some helpful keyboard combinations. Unfortunately, there's a "Yes, but..."
After I installed Double Command 1.6.6b1, when I selected "Shut Down" or used the power button my MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo w/OS10.5.2, would go to Sleep. When I reopened the the computer it would never come out of sleep and would keep a black screen. I was not able to do anything until I did a "Force Quit" by holding down the power button. On the restart, thing worked fine until the next shut down. When I deleted Double Command, the problem disappeared.
I'll give it 4 to 5 stars if that problem is corrected.

DoubleCommand Troubleshooting ReportKernel panic on OS 10.5 (Leopard) - Version: 1.6.3, 12/22/2007 03:46AM PST

Had several panics. most often moments after waking from sleep mode, Sometimes it happened when you type the first key, sometimes spontaneously. I have uninstalled this version and won't install 1.6.6 until the comments show no problems.

Below I reported that 1.66b1 was inactivating its settings. Following picodom's post, I installed 1.65. I have only one key substitution-- 'enter' acts as 'control', and I'm having no problems

DoubleCommand CommentaryKernel crash on every boot - Version: 1.6.6b1, 12/5/2007 10:03PM PST

googull
Virgin system - fresh install of 10.5.1

I get a kernel crash on every boot. SW still seems to work - most of the time. going to unload and wait for more stable release as I am new to MAC and am not ready to sign up for this type of challenge - but I really need this sw to ease the transition from Windows.

DoubleCommand CommentaryDC 1.6.6b1 inactivates after set-up in 10.5.1 - Version: 1.6.6b1, 12/1/2007 04:52PM PST

samplerx
I installed DC 1.6.6b1 on 10.5.1 after completely erasing the disk partition. I set it up, but when I quit set-up and try it, the keys don't work, and I get a message saying something like "DC is not activated." Back to the preference pane and sure enough, no settings are active.
