Product Description:

EasyDivx is a simple utility to make playable versions of DivX movies on MacOS X 10.1. QuickTime has problems playing the MP3 track on AVI movies, and an utility called getMp3 can be used to get the sound track. EasyDivx extracts the soundtrack and replaces the defunct soundtrack by the working one, and save the result as a movie using references: so do not delete or remove the original .avi movie and the .mp3 soundtrack which have the same name as the .divx movie.

What's new in this version:

  • bug corrected: it now really works on locked volumes
  • bug corrected: it now accepts files with ' or " in the name
  • appearance: the apple menu is no longer in french
  • improvement: extracting the audio no longer lag so much

EasyDivx Usage TipObsolete - Version: 1.2.1, 10/10/2003 12:47AM PST

This app may or may not work perfectly, but it doesn't matter. It's an inefficient way of viewing divx movies. forget this app, all you need is another app also available at VersionTracker, it's called Mplayer. Mplayer will actually play anything I throw at it, no conversion necisary.

things all .avi are divx is completly wrong. Some avi's yes are dvix but avi's can have a mutlitupe of compressions for theri video. The best way to make all these things playable is to use vlc on g's. If you dont have a g4 its highly reccomended that you do a conversion of the Divx file to get smooth playback via DIVX doctor or something of the equivalent.

of this product. It does not encode, it does exactly what the software supplied with the DivX codec does... so it's useless anyway.
