If that's the case, I wish they would make something for the Umax 1220U under OS X. I was lucky enough to find Twain-Sane for now.

...as was posted by several other people on the other SilverFast software pages you've improperly posted one-star reviews to, thinking this was a method for lobbying a complaint against Umax. SilverFast isn't associated with Umax--in fact, that's one of the main reasons they write scanner software--to fill in the gap left by companies like Umax.

small claims lawsuit today against UMAX because of their refusal to continue to support their "Mac-compatible" scanners. All affected UMAX scanner owners should do this. Mac users shouldn't buy products from this company and PC users should be wary about this company's poor attitude toward new operating systems.
Forget UMAX! UMAX…

has categorically stated that they will NOT be providing any support whatsoever under OS X for their prior OS scanners. No drivers, nothing! I have written to their president, their legal department, and to other departments without getting any response. My local MAC dealer terminated their relationship with UMAX because of their dirty tricks to get us to buy more scanners. Apple also terminated their relationship according to my dealer. I just found out my father's company also has had unresolved problems with UMAX. This company is not deserving of anyone's business. Forget UMAX!

the ScanPilot if you do not read the Quickstart manual. The ScanPilot helps to get the workflow. Also, a professional user interface cannot be used with minimal instructions! Check out the QuickTime movies on the website and you know it all!

three stars because of the fact that it makes my scanner actually work, which is better than Umax can say for its drivers. However, I think the user interface is very ugly and not very intuitive. Also, it would be nice if one could get rid of noise by doing multiple passes using the scanner hardware. The Nikon Coolscan software allows this and it works very well. This would enable people with older scanners to use their scanners, although it would be slower, to make much better scans with more information in the scan.

good idea to make that price the $763 it is instead of $65. Makes VueScan look pretty good.

hard to support all Umax scanners under OS-X. So , some patience is expected. Check back on our site for the individual scanners.
