Easy update, no problems whatsoever. I'm continually impressed with the quality of the Lasso server. Well worth the purchase price when compared, apples to apples, with php (yes PHP), cold fusion or asp. Try it, you'll never go back. Takes half the time to code as other languages. Works on linux, mac os x, mac os x server, and windows.

Try Typo3. It is open source and very powerful. Learning curve is a bit steep, but it has the power.
Lots of similar products in the $200- $300 range

VT doesn't have the list of stuff that was fixed in this version. It's extremely extensive. I really recommend that if you have 7, that you upgrade to this version.

No way Lasso is too expensive for what it offers. The cost is but a few hours consulting work. Sure, it may be out of reach for the hobbyist but when you need to get a job done, Lasso provides a great, rapid development system with excellent integration of multiple database backends.
Been a happy user for over 3 years and LP7 just raises the bar another notch.

Lasso Professional 7 retails for $999, not $1199. Until Dec 31, 2003, though, it is $949. Hopefully VT will update the price.
