WindowShade X CommentaryDisappointing Customer Service - Version: 4.3, 10/18/2009 07:21AM PST

As a paying customer it doesn't seem like it's a big stretch to expect an answer when I ask when I can expect the product to work with the latest Mac OS.
(Cut and Paste your email reply, Unsanity - better yet, spend 5 minutes once every week or so, while you are having your AM coffee, to update the product page with your progress)

If Unsanity is too busy to update/address their customers - then perhaps they don't deserve them.

Upshot: Apple needs to rework this feature back into the OS/GUI.

WindowShade X CommentaryUnsanity's communication policy :-( - Version: 4.3, 9/29/2009 01:22PM PST

Whether we like it or not this is Unsanity's official communication policy taken from one of their blogs: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Note: Please do not post comments and/or send emails asking about the present and/or future of things not mentioned in this post. Such comments will be moderated, deleted, or edited. When we have something to say about other products, it will be posted, and not a moment before then. Asking us about ETAs just ends up wasting both of our time. Apologies for taking such a harsh stance, but the only thing we would tell you is "it'll be done when it's done" and we're trying to prevent a repeat of the tens of thousands of comments/emails we've received asking for an ETA. Any kind of timeframe or ETA we could possibly give will be wrong and users get very disappointed when ETAs are missed. That's the nature of ETAs, they are always wrong. And due to the fact we won't release something before we feel it is ready, any ETA is even more likely to be missed."

WindowShade X CommentaryThey just don't care... - Version: 4.3, 9/26/2009 01:51AM PST

orlandobob_dotmac
I have written to Unsanity several times re Snow Leopard compatibility, and like everyone else - NO response.
It's hard for me to believe they can't get it together enough to update the app. If they wanted to, they would.
It's obvious they don't care, but I can't understand why.

WindowShade X CommentaryIncompatible with OS X10.6 - Version: 4.3, 9/4/2009 03:05PM PST

jerrysturman
The latest version of WindowShade is incompatible with Snow Leopard. There is no indication on the Unsanity site of either the issue or when an upgrade will be released.

WindowShade X CommentaryEssential! But is Unsantiy DOA or just don't care? - Version: 4.3, 9/2/2009 04:28PM PST

I've depended on WindowShade, FruitMenu and because of these APE for many years. I kept quiet when Leopard shipped and these guys took 5 months to even get a beta out. Don't they pay for an Apple Developer subscription so they can download pre-release OS versions to begin developing their products on. I can understand that an OS beta is a shifting collection of code but Unsanity is no different than any other software developer (well, they are scr*wing with the GUI...)

Their continued silence about the future 10.6 compatibility of these apps is sad.

At least Apple took the liberty of disabling Unsanity products with this new OS installer. Smart!

I still recommend this to OS 10.4 and 10.5 users. And FruitMenu.

Apparently it will not work in Snow Leopard, and all questions regarding if or when it will be updates have been ignored.

This is a fantastic application, but not for 10.6.

WindowShade X CommentaryNo Go On Leopard Server - Version: 4.3, 7/3/2009 03:02PM PST

zunipus
For those using Mac OS X SERVER 10.5.7, Unsanity have still not been able to get WindowShade X working. It is 100% inert. Just so you know and aren't counting on using it. Again, this is the SERVER version of Leopard ONLY.

Background: I've contacted Unsanity countless times about the problem without result. I don't know if they've been working on the issue or not. Certainly it would not seem a priority compared to the client version of Mac OS X.

WindowShade X CommentaryOS10.4.11 On Intel MacBook Pro? Wanna Gamble On Yet Another "New" MIP? - Version: 4.3b1, 4/18/2009 10:07PM PST

I did. I recently upgraded to Windowshade 4.2, and MIP instantly became a nightmarish "feature" making MIPed windows usually disappear completely, much as many other folks here have reported re 4.2. Fortunately I found an old 4.1.2 installer somewhere, made the downgrade, and all is well again in MIPland. Now I should consider trying 4.3b1? Surely you jest! What's up over at Unsanity? C'mon!
