Windows is DOS and was warmly welcomed into the personal computer age. Bad people was able to figure out ways to corrupt Windows because there were more of those program based computers compared to Apple Mac at 10% of the market. We didn't get picked on a heck of a lot - but Mac has become compatible and having to run DOS apps brings those possible nasties into our camp. OS X? I don't know if it's been a good thing. Things were way more better back in the OS 9 days. All Apple is doing is becoming more in tune with the electronic application of the way things are now and the bad guys are noticing. Especially now that Macs have gone Intel... These viral updates are actually needed for any help with this considered good and is better than none at all.

If you really WANT a virus checker you should switch to Windows. I haven't used one for years and have never had a hint of a virus. MacOSX has not had a virus in the wild yet, so don't bog your Mac down with Dis or DAT.
he should use a virus protection for sure.
I am not. And I don't feel I have to do a job
that those windows users should do for their own safety.
So no protection against a non existing danger for me.
