That's an interesting thought. Hmmm...
But, it seems a shame to chew up menu space for just 2 menu items. There are already many menu-based launchers out there so maybe what is needed is a companion app called "Quit Everything" that just quits everything that isn't on the hidden list, without showing the dialog. You could then install these into the launcher menu of your choosing.
Some options: the excellent (though somewhat expensive) iKey, Apple's free Script Menu (it will show anything, not just scripts), or even just make it available in the dock (I have a folder in the dock that contains my favorite apps, instead of displaying ALL apps in the dock).
I do appreciate the suggestion and will include the companion app in the next version. I hope that (combined with a menu launcher) will give you the functionality you are looking for.

This really needs to be a menu bar item. Click on the menu bar icon, select "Quit listed apps" or "Edit list". That would be simpler way.

THis app gives you access to hidden apps/processes and the ability to quit them. Secondly it gives a nice friendly graphical interface to the UNIX killall command.
Have you have had a program that would not quit even if you tried to "Force" it with Apple's Force Quit command? Well if so the UNIX kilall command is like a Super Force Quit for those tough apps. This app gives a nice friendly graphical front end to that command so you don't need to play around in Terminal.
Recomended.
