Product Description:

Haxial NetFone is an encrypted multi-user Internet telephone. ie it lets you talk (literally, without typing), to 1 or more people over the Internet. You can talk to multiple people at the same time, and your security and privacy is protected by encryption.

What's new in this version:

  • Click someone in the list to change the volume at which their sound plays (thanks Doug for the suggestion). You can also overdrive the volume up to 200%.
  • Implemented "Send Sound File" command. You can send uncompressed WAV or uncompressed AIFF files.
  • Added status/progress window to "Send Clipboard" command, which also works much better now.
  • Windows: "Send Clipboard" command works.
  • Added a text chat window (useful for example if your microphone etc isn't working but you need to communicate).
  • New icon for the program file. Yes, all net fones are orange, didn't you know?
  • Mac: Fixed incompatibility with some USB microphones (thanks Dave).
  • Can now use color schemes. Copy a Color Scheme file into the same folder as NetFone, and rename it to exactly "ColorScheme.dat". Then open NetFone, and it should be using the new color scheme.
  • Windows: Second-click any minimize button to minimize the program to the system tray. The item in the taskbar also has a proper icon now.
  • A 19-page documentation PDF is now included.

there is, hands down. however, the interface looks like something out of a bad nineties hollywood computer flick.. wrong in so many ways you want to put a screwdriver in your eye. and putting an aqua skin on it isn't the point. you still have wack menus and so on. no software can be considered fully functional with a horrendous interface like this. four stars anyway for being so good at what it does.

really cool little app; only downside is the configuration process. Would be nice if there was a "server" option that allowed users to connect to a "server" host and be able to converse with all other connected users. Also, it would be cool if there was an option to show a user's icon on screen when he/she spoke.

me after configuring our ADSL routers, but I'm getting a very nasty echo of my input. is there a setting in OSX that I need to change, or do I need to get one of those headsets? right now I'm using my iMac G4's built in mic with a regular headphone. The other party is using headphones, too.
