check for bugs"? What would the author of Alarm Clock Pro know about checking for bugs? You claim to have beta testers, yet a recent release of that program had the major change listed as "fixed the fact that I can't spell the days of the week". And "the lacking of features"? You mean because the author of MP3 Alarm Clock figured out that no one with an IQ above 4 needs a YEARLY alarm? You can't say a program is missing features because your competing product is pumped full of more useless features than Microsoft Word. And don't tell me that your x.0.1 releases ensure quality either, because they don't. Like every .0.1 release by every other company, they exist for no reason other than to cover your butt because you made a foolish mistake in the last release. MP3 Alarm Clock is good enough that it doesn't need .0.1 releases every other day. It may not be perfect, but at least it runs without a glaring bug that prevents it from doing its job. Alarm Clock Pro has its uses, but quite frankly if you want a nice clean app to simply wake you up in the morning, then MP3 Alarm Clock is it. MP3 Alarm Clock rocks. I don't really use multiple alarms, because I have a good memory and can remember when I need to wake up. It's only failed me once, and that was because I left my headphones plugged in. I'd use it every day if it could magically tell my Quicksilver to shut off the fan so I can get some sleep. But I use it on my iBook all the time. Long Live SugarCube Software!

good idea and could become a good program as well. For the moment it has many bugs. Here are few: 1) When I add a number of songs in the play list and the alarm goes off, pressing "Snooze" or Dismiss alarm" doesn't do anything. The application doesn't respond. 2) It seems that if you want your changes and alarms saved; after you set everything up you have to quit and relaunch the app. Otherwise if the application crash you loose all the settings you chanced since the last relaunch. 3)The application behaves weird, Sometimes the alarm goes off, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it goes off and it doesn't stop. (see #1) 4) The application has a tendency to crash frequently. I noticed that it almost always crashes if while you are previewing an mp3 in the settings, you stop it and try to preview another mp3. It needs some work before I can trust it to wake me up. On the plus site the application is really easy to use and it has a beautiful interface.

MP3 Alarm Clock X ReviewThere's a bug… - Version: 2.1, 10/27/2001 10:14PM PST

reverie--2008
in Mac OS X that prevents software signals from waking it up out of sleep--seems to be only hardware ones (keyboard/mouse input) will do it. So if you want the alarm clock to work, you can go to the Energy Saver preferences and check the "Wake for network administrative access" box, which will actually prevent your computer from ever completely going to sleep. The hard drive spins down and the monitor turns off, though, so at least you get something. By the way, fine product. Just clean up a few little things, and this will become a 5. :)
