If it wasn't dead before, it is now... - Version: 1.9.2u, 11/30/2008 04:23AM PST

Trusoft seems to be defunct; the site is down and the email address in unreachable. That means the end of HotApp, which is a pity. I have used it for a long time but its functionality is now pretty compromised; I am finding that 'dynamic paste' only works if you go to the HotApp preference pane first! I am going over to Typinator instead although this is only good for the text expansions and furthermore requires the use of abbreviations rather than hot keys. But it is fast and reliable.

I wrote the developer, and got this reply:
"we're still here... but we're busy doing a lot of consulting work and so spend less time updating the site... HotApp is compatible with 10.5 :-)"

I just checked trufsoft.com to see if there's an update for HotApp. While the site is still there, a lot of the links go nowhere and the forums appear to be inoperative, and the last post was January 2007. Please, somebody, tell me I'm wrong!
Is there any other app out there that does what HotApp does, without all the fuss of QuicKeys, and the unsatisfactoriness of the Finder's built-in function key support?

Leopard Compatible? - Version: 1.9.2u, 10/24/2007 11:47AM PST

Wondering if anyone that had access to a pre-release of Leopard tested HotApp for compatibility?
I too love this program and would not want to be without it. I'm just concerned about future development given that the latest release is coming up on 2 years old and is still listed as a BETA.
Just looking for a little reassurance. Thanks.

I've use HotApp for years and find it indispensable; I'm glad Trufsoft has avoided QuickKeys-like bloat. I second the motion to be able to sort on the columns in the HotApp pane. I do find that every time I upgrade to a different hard drive I have to re-apply most or all hotkeys, which is not a big deal. And I would appreciate more information on Dynamic Paste; I want to create my own. It looks like you should be able to, but I can't figure it out. Gues I'll have to write to TrufSoft--they have a user forum but there's not much activity.

Having been using Hotapp since it first came out and can not work without it. Work on my mac 8 hours a day.
Most unfortunate problem : file/directory opening is the only option that does not work in 1.9 Hope this gets fixed soon...!
Thanks for a MUST HAVE app.

...except without modifiers it won't respond to F14/Scroll Lock and F15/Pause on my IBM Model M with a PS/2-USB converter (F13/PrintScrn works). which is exactly what i downloaded this for: mapping those specific keys to the volume controls.
but KUDOS for tapping in to the volume controls with bezel feedback. this app looks really great, and seems to be just what i'm looking for to wrangle my keyboard since Xkeys is kaput under 10.4 (and my apple pro keyboard is kaput under ginger beer).

It's the first app that is capable to do something with my function Key F13 to F19.
Good Soft.
