Magic Mouse tracking - Version: 2.2, 11/6/2009 05:07PM PST

I have a PowerMac dual processor G5 running Leopard 10.5.8 of 2003 vintage and was experiencing the slow tracking problem. Mouse Zoom corrected this very nicely.
MouseZoom Rocks

Easy to install, configure, and use. If you fill crippled by Mac's limited mouse settings. Speed it up!

Despite repeated attempts, I cannot get it to install on my G5 Dual running OSX 10.5.5. I'm disappointed because I loved it when I was last able to use it (forget my config then) because of the huge screen real estate I have.
Great Little Tool

Just installed this and it works great. Precisely what I've been looking for to speed up my mouse tracking (which in OSX is painfully slow). And, it's FREE, unlike USBoverdrive.
perfect!

Does everything I wanted of it, including the ability to slow down a mouse beyond Apple's available settings.
Kinda does, kinda doesn't....

Does what it does well enough. But my complaint with it is similar to the one I have with Apples built in adjustments.
1... Apples. Not enough speed increase, especially with higher resolution displays and laser resolutions their maximum just isn't enough. One thing I hate if pushing a mouse around all day/night. MouseZoom fixes this nicely.
2... MouseZoom's. Not adjustment for the speed/DPI ratio. This is also missing from apples adjustments. I find MouseZooms lack of this feature to be just as frustrating as Apples. I don't like to have much change in speed as I move the mouse. I like to mostly have a direct ratio. My mind expects it to be where I move it. But I find that as my speed changes in physical movement the mouse ends up short of it's mark and I have to push further until I get there. This is as bad as the movement speed being too slow. As a result I have the speed higher than I want to try and compensate and now I overshoot the target. I just can't find a balance.
NOTE: USB Overdrive was a old favourite of mine as it did really well. Until I bought an Apple BT Mighty Mouse, which it doesn't support at all as far as I can figure.

Does exactly what I wanted in a simple "apple" way. Thanks to the developer for the UB version.
Also good for slowing down.

I just bought a Bluetooth Logitech V270 mouse, and with no drivers supplied by Logitech the mouse sensitivity is way too fast for me on the second-lowest OSX setting and way too slow on the lowest setting. Having the the abillity to fine-tune the speed beyond the 6 settings Apple provides is crucial.

Hell yes! Thank you, Ben Hines! I was so annoyed by the slow cursor in osx that I have been finding that I spend more time booted in windows these days. I also have a repetetive strain injury, so having the cursor go where I want instantly, instead of having to drag and lift the mouse multiple times is a really great thing. Now osx will be more comfortable to use. The cursor speed may seem like a trivial issue, however, the mouse and cursor are a major part of a computer, and if it's annoying and tiresome to use, that can have a major impact on a person's experience using the computer.
