about the appropriateness of the name is irrelevant. What's in a name? Indeed to what extent is Excel a fine name to describe a spreadsheet program? I'm not even talking about Dreamweaver or Fireworks (In the last instance, don't you think that the International Pyrotechnic Society should sue Macromedia????).. Come on!! What must be retained is that MacAsp is probably one of the best piece of software ever produced for the Mac platform. It is fast, functional and definitely worth the money

reason to use PHP is that it's portable. And I'm not debating the relative merits of PHP and MacASP anyway. Simply stated, as a freelance web developer myself, there is a lot of demand for ASP web applications and the ability to develop these on the Mac would be very useful.
