i licensed XRay shortly after it came out and still like it best, though i had been a solid File Buddy user in the legacy Mac OS; XRay is handy for fix-up work, but also for exploring file attributes; i hope Rainer is working on an upgrade that will let us look into the new Spotlight metadata and explore the new Tiger file type system
This is the best progam to have to equalize X with 9

Rainer you have done a great job providing us with an excellent piece of software that Apple should have included - whether you like permissions or not - this is the one huge problem with OS X - is corrupt permissions like after you change a user or bring files over from a firewire drive and find they are read only... I for one, much like the only one out of X lepers who was healed by Jesus want to return after today purchasing a serial no. and thank-you very much. We appreciate the work you put into this great ap. Ian

Rainer-Thats the number of bytes mine has. Took me forever to count them. ;) Nice looking new version, many thanks. Using this app gives one the feeling the Greek gods on Mount Olympus must have had. :)

I checked (again)... appears to be OK. Please check, the downloaded .dmg file should have exactly 1670267 bytes.

Version 1.1 appears damaged. It will not mount for me, using two different browsers.

mfix, I've since checked this under both 10.3.3 and 10.3.4 and could not reproduce it even once. Would you please e-mail me directly with more details?

i like XRay and use it since a long time. But the file and folder count does not work properly anymore on OS X 10.3.3. I get wrong counts from big folder with thousands of files - result 20 files 4 folder or some much to small number ? (minus 1 star - temporarily)
XRay is the best

XRay is one of the must-have applications for Mac OS X. If you want to change the permissions of a file (including the execute bit, sticky bit, setuid bit, and other metadata that the Finder's Get Info won't give you access to) without using the Terminal, change the type or creator of a file without knowing the exact four-letter codes off the top of your head (XRay gives a list of all applications on the system, and after one is selected gives a list of the types it supports), change file system metadata such as the modification date or the bundle bit, make a file invisible or make an invisible file visible again, or check the size of a file's resource fork, this is the best tool available, period. If you want to apply any of the aforementioned changes to all the files in a certain folder, you *need* this app. Highly recommended for any Mac OS X power user.

...has 1,680,629 bytes, please check it. I just downloaded it again and it works now; no idea what went on at the server. Again, I apologize for the mix-up...
