application called IP Monitor that I downloaded from here months ago and it works fine. It is a little monitor that disapears if I want it to. This above application has negative reviews. So I am not going to bother.

purpose of this app is unclear. As others have said, there are tools built into the OS to let you view this information manually, and if you're trying to do it programmatically, this can also already be done in OS X. If you want ipself to be used in scripts on pre-OS X operating systems, you'd do well to offer AppleScript support. 'tell application "ipself" to activate / set myip to the clipboard' is a little ineligant; 'tell application "ipself" to set myip to local IP address' would be better.

attempts at extracting and using IP Self on a beige G3 400 mhz AV unit running OS 9.2.2 with CarbonLib 1.6. Both times I received an error stating that it will not work with this system version. It seems to be only OSX compatible, despite the requirements stated on the VT page. I will withhold a rating for now until the author has an opportunity to look into the matter.
