Product Description:

Lexmark X83 Driver for Mac OS X version 10.1. Package Version 1.1.0. This driver does not support printing in Classic. Once downloaded, double-click on the icon "Install" in the CJMX83L1 folder on your desktop. Please make sure your USB cable is connected to the Mac from the Lexmark X83. Your Lexmark X83 should be powered on and not in "Power Saver" (Displayed on the Operators Panel). Then, follow the on-screen instructions. Call Lexmark for Support Information on this file at (888) LEXMARK - (888) 539-6275, or "http://support.lexmark.com". This file has been encoded to protect against corruption during file transfer. To decode this file, you will need to download a copy of the freeware utility Stuffit Expander from Aladdin Systems, Inc. Once the Installation is complete, the install files remaining on the desktop are no longer needed. Complete Users Guide is available in the Lexmark X83 Help. These drivers can be downloaded from this web site free of charge. However, there will be a fee to cover materials and handling if requested from the Technical Support Center.

Lexmark DOES NOT support OS X - not in OCR not in printer drivers. I just went and spent $60.00 on ink for my X83 so I could print with it... couldn't install ANY driver... call Lexmark they said X83 is NOT supported under OS X 10.3.8 only up to Jaguar. I CAN NOT PRINT WITH THE X83!!!!!! DON'T BUY A LEXMARK!!! - called Apple they said Lexmark has to make an updated driver

don't download this if you run 10.3.8 - won't work!!!

As a result of the horrible experience I have had with this driver, I am not ever buying a Lexmark printer again, and I am recommending that my clients (who buy a LOT of printers) avoid them, too.

I finally Uninstalled all the drives and the "Monitor" file... Guess what guys? This was using 20-50% of my CPU Power during idle times when the printer was off.... WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? That has got to be the worst programming I've encountered in a long ass time.
