Product Description:

The Adobe SVG Viewer is a plug-in that your Web browser will use to render Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). Adobe Illustrator 9.0 will export SVG directly. SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) is an open-standard vector graphics language that lets you design Web pages with exciting, high-resolution graphics including such sophisticated elements as gradients, embedded fonts, transparency, animation, and filter effects, using plain text commands. The Scalable Vector Graphic format is based on XML (Extensible Markup Language) and is being developed by a working group of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

What's new in this version:

Elements and attributes - Support for the following elements: color-profile, marker, title, and view; full support for the switch element; support for the general requiredFeatures and systemLanguage attributes; the image element now supports links to SVG files.
CSS properties - Support for the following CSS properties: color-interpolation-filters, color-profile, marker, marker-end, marker-mid, marker-start; support for the @media CSS rule, and the media attribute for style elements. The values all, screen, and print are supported.
DOM support - Support for the SVGMatrix class; support for the getCTM, getElementsByTagNameNS, and getBBox methods.
Modify contextual menus - Contextual menus can now be modified by the developer for more customized applications.
Internal script engine - The new script engine allows self-contained JavaScript scripts to run inside SVG files embedded in hosts that don't support a bridge between plug-ins and the host script engine, including Internet Explorer on the Mac.
Worldwide distribution - Adobe SVG 3.0 Viewer will be available in 15 languages and is distributed with Adobe Acrobat� Reader�.
New platforms supported - Apple Mac OS X (10.1) native
Faster, more powerful - Significant performance improvements. Save as compressed SVG (.svgz).

Does work on 10.4 - Version: 3.0, 3/23/2007 09:38AM PST

Maybe ASV doesn't *install* on 10.4, but it does *work*. I currently have it installed right now on 10.4.9 (PPC). Note that Adobe support for ASV is being discontinued on January 1, 2008 (http://www.adobe.com/svg/eol.html) and that Apple is building SVG support directly into WebKit (http://wiki.svg.org/WebKit).
