Product Description:

It's the party of the year for the game of the year and you're the host. You decide if it's time for your Sims to hoedown at a country barn dance, chow down at a tropical luau, or go underground at a rave. Will your party be a smash or a snore? House Party is your invitation to rock your Sims' House!

Players can build a dance floor, with optional dance cages, and watch their Sims dance to the rhythm of the DJ's music. A flashy caterer is available for hire to keep the buffet table and punch bowl full. When all else fails, players can roll in a mechanical bull or the popular cake dancers to kick the party into high gear. The House Party Expansion Pack makes it easy for players to throw everything from a small birthday bash to a wild bachelor party. Within each entertaining theme, a festive variety of costumes and d�cor options are available to add breadth to the bash.

House Party includes:

Build the ultimate theme party with new Cowboy, Rave and Luau design sets
Five new dance and music styles
New characters like cake dancers and the celebrity guest
100+ new items, including a mechanical bull, dance cage, campfire and bubble maker

What's new in this version:

Fixed a minor memory leak in the Far file loading system.
Fixed a random crash when the Repo Man zaps an item. Also fixes a similar crash with the Clown Catchers.
The Room mood bar was occasionally overdrawing to the left, most notably in a room containing an indoor swimming pool.
Reduced CPU usage while the game is paused.
The number of open files allowed has been increased dramatically to facilitate user add-ons (ie, downloadable objects and skins). If this limit is exceeded, a fatal alert is displayed.
The software does not properly redraw the game screen after a hardware "wake from sleep". This is a known issue, but will not be fixed.
House Party only: A maximum of 99 neighborhoods may now be created (previously only 9 were allowed).

from VersionTracker's listing, but this update requires you to install the Carbon 2.2 updater first.

updater says it runned thru ok. but still the application file stays in old classic version, so in the other word nothing happens although ut say that the update was a success. anyone else having the same problem?

have to be in OS 9/Classic to install the entire game? Some of us have been pure OS X for a while now and I for one am not going to install OS 9 just to install a game.
